Been a busy few days. Just finished a big job, no damage, with a good payday. Both for me and the guys as they got $50.00 tips from the customer, and I gave them a $30.00 tip from myself. And they got 17 hours toward the payday.
And I should get some bills caught up. :) Good, good all around.
Even had to rent a Uhaul due to having a dozen or so pieces that just wasn't going to fit. Sometimes it is worth just saying "Ok- lets just get the truck, not fight with it, not break something." The cost wasn't plan but with no damage and a happy customer who will drop our name, well known in the area- it was the best thing in the long run.
Did my DOT exam and passed. The eye exam went well, due to the new glasses. It was fun even. I hadn't no more then got my back hurting on the waiting room chairs then she called me back. I told the lady I never had gotten taken back as fast, it was only like a few minutes. Then she asked me to get on the scale. "Gosh, and I was just starting to like you... now, not so much." 'Yeap, half and half after this, making me see the number" We joked about and she wanted me to do the pee in the cup. "Can you give me a sample?" "Please, I am 48 years old. I can't pass a bathroom and not want to pee."
At the end she gave me the forms, and asked if I still liked her? "Yeap, if you was a facebook page, I would like ya." and gave her a thumbs up. lol It was fun to joke with the ladies, sure they see a lot of things each and every day.
Even tho work is gone well these last few days- the heat is killing me. I really can't wait for the cold weather they are saying is on the way. Let's hope the heat is over since it is mid Septemeber.
Best thing is the message from Meeper to try and set up a meet up come the end of November. :D
So looking forward to meeting them, Seven and her have always been on my list to meet in person. Throw in Ann, Cancer, Moonie, and a few more and I can be a happy VR person. ;)
Meet a lot of good folks here, but still have a few to go.
This is random- so...
Small town restaurant we stop at when we got into that part of the town. We stop Wen morning and the owner, who shares my name, is very friendly and sweet woman. She came up to the table and we call each other by name. She wasn't her normal smiles and then she leaned into my side and told me she had lost her husband. Suddenly, no warning. She almost broke up in tears.
At the end of the meal I went to pay the bill and we exchanged phone numbers. She wants me to call her, she said she needed someone to talk to. :(
I understand, and will call her Friday to see if she wants to get together at some point this weekend. If I can help this nice lady in anyway, even just listening to her, it would be nice. Re-pay all the help I was given when I lost my father.
Tomorrow is when I lost my dad, 5 years ago. Time heals, they say. And it does, but that kind of pain will never leave me I have learned. Some pain you can't heal.
9/11 came and went. With the driving time we had of late I have had the time to think, remember. Sad time all around here at home, family. But you go on, count the blessing you have, and never stay on the negative long.
